Rock icon Lenny Kravitz is all set to embrace spontaneity for his father-of-the-bride speech at daughter Zoë Kravitz’s wedding.
The renowned “Fly Away” singer, 59, shared his laid-back approach for the upcoming toast at Zoë’s much-anticipated marriage to Channing Tatum. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Critics Choice Awards, Lenny revealed his plan to speak from the heart, eschewing a pre-written script for a more in-the-moment expression of his feelings.
“I don’t plan those things. It’s all about letting the emotions of the moment guide you,” he explained, highlighting his preference for a genuine, unrehearsed message.
Lenny’s relaxed stance on the speech mirrors his supportive attitude towards Zoë’s relationship with Tatum, 43. When asked about the engagement, he simply responded, “Hey, man. That’s life.” Expressing his joy over his daughter’s happiness, he added, “When your family is happy, when your child is happy, that’s the ultimate success. I feel blessed.”
Zoë, 35, a star in her own right, and Tatum, first sparked engagement rumors back in October when she was spotted wearing a significant ring. The couple, who began their romance in 2021, have since been a subject of much media interest.
In a candid chat with GQ in November 2022, Zoë opened up about her bond with Tatum, describing him as “a wonderful human.” She shared insights into their shared passion for the arts, mentioning how they enjoy dissecting films and engaging in deep discussions about their craft.
“He’s my rock during filming. His support was unwavering — be it making tea or being my on-set protector,” Zoë reflected on Tatum’s role during the making of her directorial debut, ‘Pussy Island,’ where Tatum played the lead. She emphasized how their collaboration on the film was a testament to their strong partnership, saying, “If you can work through something as intense as this together, it’s a great litmus test. And we’re even closer now.”
Lenny Kravitz, embracing the role of a supportive father, is all set to deliver a memorable, heartfelt tribute to the couple on their special day, proving that sometimes the most touching words are those that come straight from the heart.
